Bill Lockwood: Losing Property Rights 0 (0)

by Bill Lockwood

Fox & Friends reported Monday that an Ohio business owner “is receiving threats for cooperating with law enforcement officials investigating the looting of her cupcake store last month.” “Kelly Kandah, the owner of Colossal Cupcakes in Cleveland, which was destroyed by looters, said some of those threats include people telling her that when her store is rebuilt, ‘it’s going to happen again.’”

Ms. Kandah said that some of the “complaints” of rioters were due to the fact that her cooperation with the FBI is “upsetting people” because she would involve the police over something such as property.”

The family-owned business, which is Ms. Kandah’s investment of her own private capital, is afraid to re-open after repairs because her plea to law enforcement for protection is seen by the looters as “racist” for “not supporting ‘black lives.’”

Kelly Kandah’s story is only one example of literally hundreds and thousands of private business owners who have lost, and are in the process of losing their own private property to the forces of evil. Violence is sweeping the country in the aftermath of the George Floyd death leaving cities such as Minneapolis looking like the streets of Baghdad.

Socialism Cancels Property Rights

Much of the current hedonistic lawlessness, inclusive of the disrespect of private property, is due to the infusion of socialistic “values” in our people. The doctrine of socialism disdains the very concept of “private property.” Private property is itself considered to be evil, according to Spargo & Arner (Elements of Socialism).

Not only is private property considered to be evil, but is the very cause and root of all societal problems. “Dishonesty” is supposedly caused by “private property” (p. 23); property is that which “divides mankind into classes” (p. 206), and therefore, all property must be leveled.

A malicious view of these socialists is found in their comment regarding “Negroes” and private property. “The ‘thieving propensities’ of the Southern negro do not come from a criminal nature, but from the failure of a simple barbarous people fully to appreciate the conception of private property” (p. 71).

Since private property is seen as a development of evolutionary changes through centuries, and people are as well, Spargo & Arno are suggesting that blacks have not evolved to the point where they have appreciated the developments of civilization.

It is ironic that the current slew of Marxists and socialists in our universities have maligned Christianity with a backward view of blacks and private property—when in point of fact, it is SOCIALISM itself which teaches it.

Like Spargo & Arno of yesteryear, the current Mayor of NYC, Bill de Blasio, himself a Marxist, has decried the very concept of private property in a 2017 interview, as reported by USA Today (9-13-17). Private property is a roadblock to economic progress, per de Blasio.

The mobs, looters, and violence mongers stalking our city streets agree with him. Private property is for destruction. A godless worldview.

The Founders

The founders of America correctly recognized that all of private property is an extension of one’s life, energy, and ingenuity (see W. Cleon Skousen, The Five-Thousand Year Leap, 171). Therefore, “to destroy or confiscate such property is, in reality, an attack on the essence of life itself.”

“The person who has worked to cultivate a farm, obtained food by hunting, carved a beautiful statue, or secured a wage by his labor, has projected his very being—the very essence of his life—into that labor.”

Property rights—or more correctly, the right to property, is in reality an extension of personal liberty. Justice George Sutherland of the U.S. Supreme Court once stated, “… the individual—the man—has three great rights, equally sacred from arbitrary interference: the right to his LIFE, the right to his LIBERTY, the right to his PROPERTY.”

He went on to note that “the three rights are so bound together as to be essentially one right. To give a man his life but deny him his liberty, is to take from him all that makes his life worthy living. To give him his liberty but take from him the property which is the fruit and badge of his liberty, is to still leave him a slave.”

Property rights is an essential ingredient to liberty and freedom. John Adams saw it clearly. “The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. Property must be secure or liberty cannot exist.”

Thomas Jefferson wrote, “A right to property is founded in our natural wants, in the means with which we are endowed to satisfy these wants, and the right to what we acquire by those means without violating the similar rights of other sensible beings.”

For the reasons cited above, “Life, liberty, and property” is the phrase enshrined two times in our Constitution.

What Occurs When Property Rights Are Not Respected?

W. Cleon Skousen, in The Five-Thousand Year Leap, observed that FOUR things will occur, and have occurred, where the right to property is not preserved.

One, the incentive of an industrious person to develop and improve property is destroyed. This is exactly, to the tee, what is occurring in America right now as Marxist lawless gangs loot and destroy. Kelly Kandah is “AFRAID” to re-open her business, just as she was afraid to DEFEND her business as thugs destroyed it while she hid in the back rooms while the ransacking occurred. “My family built it up, [I] listened to it get absolutely destroyed,” she said on June 2. “That whole time we were locked in there [back bathroom]… I just listened to everything getting shattered and crushed.”

Two, the industrious individual would also be deprived of the fruits of his (or her) labor. Witness again Kelly Kandah, as well as a host of other law-abiding citizens who have lost their life fortune’s while their businesses went up in smoke in recent George Floyd riots.

Three, marauding bands would be tempted to go about the country confiscating by force and violence the good things that others had frugally and painstakingly provided. Who has not seen the video clips of huge Black Lives Matter crowds plus Antifa and useful idiots robbing and pillaging businesses, homes, and grocery stores?

Four, mankind would be impelled to remain on a bare-subsistence level of hand-to-mouth survival because the accumulation of anything would invite attack. Kelly Kandah, who has laboriously accumulated something of value through the years in her Colossal Cupcakes, invites lawless attacks simply due to that fact alone. It matters not that she declares she is “absolutely for the cause” (Black Lives Matter). That cuts no figure to Marxists and violence-mongers. She has accumulated something of value.

Be sure of this. In the wake of destruction of private property also comes destruction of innocent lives. Indeed, some of this has already been occurring. And all of this from a “WOKE” crowd.

Marxism on the March 0 (0)

Marxism on the March-“President Obama has been marching with these socialists/Marxists his entire life.”

by Bill Lockwood

Make no mistake. Marxism is on the move. As reported by NPR News, protests against Donald Trump’s election are erupting across the country. Crowds gathered in Union Square in New York City; in Chicago and Washington, D.C. barricades are now erected around Trump properties to keep the potential violence at bay; in Los Angeles protesters shut down the 101 Freeway and Trump was burned in effigy while others beat a Trump piñata.

Similar scenes are being witnessed in Philadelphia, Boston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Richmond, VA; Providence, RI, Omaha, NE; Kansas City, MO and Portland, ME. American flag burning was featured at least at one of the rallies. Obama did his job well.

Sponsored by such well-known communists as George Soros, who poured millions of dollars into front organizations across America in order to influence elections, young ignorant violent millennials are stunned, to say the least. These young socialists, instructed diligently by collegiate Marxist professors, led by a Marxist president, sponsored by Marxist money, are in total disbelief that freedom-loving Americans are trying to get America back.

One picture is worth a thousand words. Photos from protests in Seattle show mass-produced signs by the organization socialistalternative.org. Socialist Alternative claims to be “in political solidarity with the ‘Committee for a Workers’ International, a worldwide socialist organization in 47 countries, on every continent….”

These socialists demand $15 an hour minimum wage; free education from preschool through college [read, paid for by the American taxpayer]; stop the drive to “privatize” education [read, disallow parental choice and instruction]; free health care [read again, taxpayer funded, government-controlled]; major tax increases on ‘the rich’; a minimum guaranteed weekly income of $600/week for the unemployed, disabled, stay-at-home parents, the elderly, and others unable to work; public ownership of bankrupt and failing companies; demands public ownership of the top 500 corporations and banks and dole out its earnings to the “broader public,” and on and on. One can read the rest in cliff-note form by perusing the Communist Manifesto.

Upheld as great reformers by socialistalternative.org are well-known American socialists of yesteryear such as Eugene Debs. Vladimir Lenin is lionized as a Soviet icon to follow. Socialistalternative.org members are encouraged to read Lenin’s book that “shook the world” entitled State and Revolution. The online review opines, “If we want to change society, we must first understand the laws that govern its development, including the repressive institutions of the state which reflect the division of society into social classes with opposed interests.”

Though it was written 100 years ago, the ideas in State and Revolution are still relevant for socialists who seek to connect with current consciousness and point the way towards the socialist transformation of society. Every socialist can gain valuable insight on how we work today for the socialist future where a state, with all its coercive power to compel people to maintain ‘order,’ is no longer necessary, and we can finally live in free association with one another.”

President Obama has been marching with these socialists/Marxists his entire life. Hence, the divided country that we are witnessing. To the stree-protestors the promise of a New Socialist Country was within reach. And now they are beside themselves as Americans are moving toward liberty under Trump.

To those who are about 100 years behind the learning curve and are disposed to contest what is the cloth out of which Obama is cut, consider:

Obama grew up in a household that admired socialists; he was personally mentored by communist Frank Marshall Davis; his biography was ghost-written by communist Bill Ayers, with whom he began his political career for president; he joined socialist organizations during his college career; his cabinet as president originally was composed of some who were card-carrying communists (Van Jones, for example); his “pastor” for two decades, Jeremiah Wright, is a communist-sympathizer; his White House open-door policy to communist agitators such as Al Sharpton and Black Lives Matter (began by communists); and his agenda reflected Marxist ideals.

This all merely demonstrates how close modern-day socialists have believed their dreams of a United Socialist States of America were believed to be. Now that Obama has been booted from the White House, they will increase pressure to threaten peace and liberty.

Socialists do not want truth from Trump or freedom for Americans. They want radical unconstitutional lawless change in which our liberty is traded for a bowl of pottage: slavery. The real hate is pouring out into the streets, threatening to disrupt peaceful society.

Anti-American Marxist Pope 0 (0)

Anti-American Marxist Pope

by Bill Lockwood

Pope Francis follows the script of Karl Marx as he criticizes Donald Trump’s proposal to build a wall of protection on the American southern border. As with all socialists, Francis’s hypocrisy runs deep and was correctly highlighted by Trump himself who called world attention to the high walls and guards that protect The Vatican City. Free market capitalism is to blame for the world’s ills, according to the Pope, but he wants our free market system to build bridges for the world’s poor to enter that the free market might care for these people. In this dispute between Francis and Trump the central power-structure and philosophy of Catholic dictatorship is clear.

This is not the first time the Pope mounted an anti-American crusade. The entire structure of our free society has come under Francis’s condemnation. The absolutism of The Vatican can never come to terms with American freedom. When Pope Francis visited Marxist-run Bolivia in 2015, communist Evo Morales, wearing a Che Guevara T-shirt, spoke before Francis. Guevara was the Argentine-born Marxist guerilla revolutionary who figured prominently in the communist takeover of South American countries as well as Cuba. Morales handed the Pope a sculpted wooden hammer and sickle—the symbol of communism. A figure of a crucified Christ rested on the hammer.

Since his election in 2013, the first pope from Latin America has often spoken out in defense of the poor by blaming free market capitalism. Seeking illogically to draw the conclusion that poverty is caused by our free markets, the pope strikes the same notes as do all dictators around the world.  The most notable incident of his challenge to America came when he spoke to Congress in 2015. Francis called for “structural change” to our economic system. His call sent thrills up Socialist Bernie Sanders’ legs who later gushed that the Pope would speak positively of Dorothy Day, a tireless apologist for socialistic and communistic regimes.

Sustainable Development,” which philosophy means nothing less than rationing of the world’s resources beneath the aegis of the United Nations, has received enthusiastic endorsement from Pope Francis. Global taxation to fund this global government is also recommended by the Pope who is joined by other fellow travelers such as Francis Fox Piven, Jeffrey Sachs, the infamous Van Jones, and communist Noam Chomsky.

Francis’s official encyclical, issued last year, entitled “Laudato Si,” or “Praised Be,” gave Vatican sanction to the UN globalist agenda of curtailing America’s productivity in the name of cutting out “climate emissions.” The United Nations’ Agenda 21 directive from 1992 calls for the change of individual American life-styles to bring them more in line with the rest of the poverty-stricken world. One has dubbed Francis’s “Praised Be” encyclical “Agenda 21 On Steroids.”  Francis believes in a Global Political Authority with teeth to force American compliance.

Encyclicals

This brings up the issue of encyclicals. According to The Modern Catholic Encyclopedia, “Encyclicals are circular letters written by the pope to convey timely teachings on matters of faith and morals. The New Testament example of an encyclical is 1 Peter”— the canonical book. They are “an exercise of the pope’s authority as the ‘chief Shepherd and teacher of the whole Church.’” In other words, the Roman Church un-scripturally and pompously elevates an encyclical to the level of Scripture.

Catholicism classifies two types of encyclicals. (1) “Only if the pope clearly expresses that he is defining ex cathedra is the encyclical an exercise of his solemn and infallible magisterium, …”  In other words, Pope must classify it as ex cathedra if it is to be considered “infallible” (without error). (2) “Otherwise encyclicals are an expression of the ordinary papal magisterium, i.e. an authentic (authoritative) teaching safeguarding faith and morals, to which …assent, reverence, due respect, obedience, submission is to be given …” Note that both types of encyclicals represent authoritative teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. The differentiation is apparently to leave an escape hatch for a Pope’s possible blunders by claiming the statements within the encyclical are not “inspired of God.”

Another item needs here be addressed. Not known to most persons is the fact that The Vatican is actually a secular political entity with physical boundaries and governmental officers to which all Catholics owe primary allegiance. This is the result of papal authority that has blasphemously arrogated to itself a highly-exaggerated view of its own authority, even declaring that the pope is “as God Himself.”

Pope Leo XIII said, “We (the Pope) hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty” (Great Encyclical Letters, 304). “But the supreme teacher in the Church is the Roman Pontiff. Union of minds, therefore, requires together with a perfect accord in the one faith, complete submission and obedience of will to the Church and to the Roman Pontiff as to God Himself” (Ibid., 193). Pope Pius XI, who reigned over Vatican City from 1922-1929, in his encyclical, Light of Truth, said the “Roman Pontiff has from on high an authority which is supreme, above all others and subject to none.”

According to the Roman Catholic Church, therefore, the following is clear. First, The Vatican City is a sovereign foreign secular political entity ruled by Pope as the Supreme Pontiff. The papacy assumes authority over all other governments in the world. Faithful Roman Catholics therefore owe their first earthly allegiance to the political government of The Vatican before they owe allegiance to any other government.

Second, the encyclical is an official pronouncement from the papacy which has, according to Roman Catholicism, the same authority as the New Testament itself. By these circular letters the papacy commands Roman Catholics around the world. The Pope asserts that he himself speaks infallibly and authoritatively in these encyclicals.

The question therefore becomes to Marco Rubio, the Roman Catholic running for the Republican nomination for president: Are you planning on obeying Pope Francis in these matters or the Constitution of the United States? Will you follow the law of the United States of America by protecting our southern border or the dictates of the Marxist Pope who suggests that we have open borders with bridges to allow the influx of the masses from Central and South America? Would you honor the Constitution, or the papal-endorsed United Nations “Sustainable Development”? To be a faithful Catholic one must obey Francis—not the Constitution. Which is it?
